The pesticide, Naled, which killed millions of bees during a spray to control Zika carrying mosquitoes in South Carolina is carcinogenic and very toxic. It has been implicated in pediatric brain cancer.

There are much safer adultacide and larvacide alternatives to Naled.

As of August 31, 2016, acourding to South Carolina Department of Health and Environment Control (DHEC), in South Carolina there has not been a single Zika carrying mosquito trapped.

South Carolina has had 44 travel-associated cases of Zika virus.

This is an example of poor judgement on the part of local government. “Naled is the most toxic of the mosquito adulticides and is the only mosquito adulticide in class 1, the highest toxicity, with the signal word ‘Danger’.
Naled is the only one that states in its label: inhaling can be FATAL.
Naled is corrosive to the skin and eyes and may cause permanent damage.
Once in the bloodstream, Naled may cross the placenta”
